Virginia Lucille Stanclift

Services for Virginia Lucille Stanclift, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry.

Mrs. Stanclift died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her son’s home in Salt Lake City after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Perry, the daughter of Marshall Thomas and Anna May (Hemphill) Michael. She spent most of her youth in the Perry area and graduated from Perry Rural High School in 1940. She studied business at Kansas University for a year.

Mrs. Stanclift owned and operated House of Accordion Studio for 15 years and worked for Hercules Powder and Ordnance plant in DeSoto for 16 years. She retired in 1995. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She married Raymond Earl Stanclift on March 24, 1944, in Ottawa. He died Jan. 8, 1979.

Survivors include three sons , Larry Stanclift, Salt Lake City, Bob Stanclift and Mike Stanclift, both of Lawrence; a brother, Robert A. Michael, Wichita; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, where family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
