She was born in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Walt and Jan (Davison) Giese. She graduated from Center High School and Kansas University. She settled in Lawrence in 1978.

Mrs. Wagner and her family acquired Boondocks Ranch in 2000 in Vinland Valley. She was a leader in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and 4-H. She also worked with breast cancer survivors and established a program to teach children and teens about the disease.

She married Dave Wagner. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Casey Wagner, and a daughter, Paige Wagner, both of the home.

The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donorâÂÂs choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
