UND benefactor dead at age of 72

? Ralph Englestad, the Las Vegas casino owner who contributed $100 million to build a basketball-hockey arena that bears his name on the North Dakota University campus, died last week at the age of 72.

Englestad, who graduated from UND in 1954, was a goaltender for the Fighting Sioux.

Kansas University played North Dakota in basketball last December in Englestad Arena. It was a homecoming game for KU’s Jeff Boschee, a native of Valley City, N.D.
