Mildred Grobbe

— She was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Alma, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Palenske. She lived in Wamego most of her life. She moved to Perry in 1978 and to OâÂÂFallon, Mo., in 1993.

Mrs. Grobbe was the cook for Alpha Gamma Rho and Kappa Kappa Gamma houses at Kansas State University for several years. She and her husband also owned and operated Grobbe Gourmet in Wamego. She became housekeeper for St. Theresa Catholic Church when she moved to Perry.

She married Arthur Grobbe in Hays. He died earlier.

Survivors include a son, E.A. âÂÂBudâ Grobbe, Hillsboro, Mo., two sisters, Elma Palenske, St. Marys, and Lillian Phillis, Topeka; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Feed the Children. They may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 245, Alma 66401.
