Mildred Grobbe

? Services for Mildred Grobbe, 91, Festus, Mo., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at R.J. Evans-Gentry Funeral Home in Alma. Burial will be later in Palenske Cemetery, west of Alma.

Mrs. Grobbe died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Crystal Oak Care Home in Festus.

She was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Alma, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Palenske. She lived in Wamego most of her life. She moved to Perry in 1978 and to O’Fallon, Mo., in 1993.

Mrs. Grobbe was the cook for Alpha Gamma Rho and Kappa Kappa Gamma houses at Kansas State University for several years. She and her husband also owned and operated Grobbe Gourmet in Wamego. She became housekeeper for St. Theresa Catholic Church when she moved to Perry.

She married Arthur Grobbe in Hays. He died earlier.

Survivors include a son, E.A. “Bud” Grobbe, Hillsboro, Mo., two sisters, Elma Palenske, St. Marys, and Lillian Phillis, Topeka; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
