Najera out 6-8 weeks following knee surgery

Dallas – Mavericks forward Eduardo Najera will miss six-to-eight weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Friday. Najera averaged 8.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 15 games this season, shooting a team-high 60.2 percent from the field. He missed the last three games with a sore left knee. The Mavericks entered Friday with an NBA-best 17-1 record.

Blazers fan falls at Rose Garden

Portland, Ore. – A woman fell from an upper deck smoking terrace at the Rose Garden on Friday night, a distance of at least 40 feet.

The woman, Tammy Fisher, was conscious and complaining of leg pain as she was transported to the hospital. She was attending the Portland Trail Blazers’ 88-69 win over the Miami Heat.
