The Southern Arizona All Airborne Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Assn. will play host to the 13th-annual Mid-Winter Conference March 13-16 in Tucson, Ariz.

Veterans from all Airborne units may attend, including troopers from the 11th, 13th, 17th, 82nd, 101st and today’s Special Forces.

Duke Armendariz, the chapter’s national president, and many officers will be present.

David Dunbar, Matthew Tate and McShane O’Neal have graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

During the eight weeks of training, the soldiers studied the Army mission and received instruction in drill and ceremonies, rifle marksmanship, weapons, map reading, tactics, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army history, core values and traditions, and special training in human relations.

Dunbar is the son of John Dunbar, Baldwin. The private is a 2002 graduate of Baldwin High School.

Tate is the son of Douglas and Jennifer Tate, Tonganoxie. He is a 2002 graduate of Tonganoxie High School.

O’Neal is the son of Shari LeFever and Danny O’Neal, both of Oskaloosa. He graduated from Jefferson West High School, Meriden, in 2000.
