Mclouth ? McLouth held Highland to one point in the first quarter en route a 39-20 girls basketball victory Thursday in the season opener for each team.

The Bulldogs outscored the Bluestreaks, 8-1, in the first quarter, and led 14-8 at halftime. McLouth led 24-16 heading into the fourth quarter before outscoring Highland, 15-4.

Emily Nitzsche led the Bulldogs with 13 points. Courtney Edmonds added nine points, and Leigh Anna Thompson and Emma Prochaska scored five points apiece.

McLouth will play host to Shawnee Maranatha tonight.
