She was born Jan. 9, 1948, on Long Island Beach, Calif., the daughter of Paul Jr. and Charlotte (Kennedy) Reynolds.

Ms. Defilippo had a degree in English literature and library science. She was employed by Kansas University libraries for more than 20 years. She also worked briefly for Lawrence public schools and Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Reynolds, San Pedro, Calif.; and a close friend, Bob Reding, Lawrence.
