Mabel A. Turner

Denver Services for Mabel A. Turner, 83, McMinnville, Ore., will be 1:30 p.m. today at Crossroad American Baptist Church, Denver. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Denver.

Mrs. Turner died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville, Ore.

She was born Nov. 24, 1908, in Valley Falls, Kan., the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Hatfield) Knowles.

She grew up and graduated from high school in Valley Falls, Kan.

She lived in Clay Center, Kan., after her marriage until 1933. From 1933 until 1950, she lived near Valley Falls, Kan. She moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1950.

Mrs. Turner worked in Rusty’s IGA supermarket for several years. In 1975, she moved to Denver, where she lived until moving Aug. 1 to McMinnville, Ore.

Mrs. Turner was active in the Baptist Church.

She married Azel O. Turner on April 8, 1929, in Valley Falls, Kan. He died earlier.

Surviving is a son, Bernard Turner, McMinnville, Ore.

A younger son, Dale Turner, died in 1994.
