He was born Feb. 17, 1910, in Gardner, the son of Charley and Agnus (Brazil) Gottstein.

Mr. Gottstein was a farmer in Gardner from 1924 until 1956, when he moved to Baldwin and farmed until 1985.

He was a member of Church of Christ, Gardner, where he served as a church elder. He was a former member of the Johnson County Fair Board.

He married Beulah Hermon on April 26, 1936, in Ottawa. She died in 1977. He married Beatrice Peery on Aug. 4, 1979, in Lawrence. She survives of Baldwin.

Other survivors include two sons, Raymond, McPherson, and John, Baldwin; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner.
