Cartoon balance

The commendation, however, would include one important exception: the political cartoons, which do come from a variety of sources, but in their point of view share a common agenda, mostly identified with the political left, as if in this regard the editorial policy followed a pre-determined party line.

Such may not be the case, I do not believe it is, but it is nonetheless the impression given by the selection of cartoons chosen for publication.

It is of course a free country and any party line has a right to be heard. The problem arises when it is a single party line, akin ideologically to a one-party system in politics. Neither one is a reflection of the Journal’s editorial policy of balance, neither one should be reflected in the editorial policy regarding political cartoons.
