World Online video: Lawrence residents getting ready for the virus

Some were surprised, while others said they were expecting the West Nile virus to make it to Lawrence. Several people contacted Thursday afternoon outside Lawrence’s downtown post office had a range of opions on how they would protect themselves.

The clips below play one after the other, featuring the following Lawrence residents, in this order: Kendall Simmons, who works at the Lawrence Computer Learning Center at Independence Inc.; Zak Bowes, a bus driver; Ali Ahmad, a Kansas University student; Valerie Stone, a KU student; and Linda Zephier, a supervisor at KU’s Kansas Union.
