Wingert named Raiders’ MVP

Troy Wingert was a double winner when they passed out Lawrence Amateur Baseball Association Awards.

Wingert, a catcher who led the Raiders in several offensive categories, was named the team’s most valuable player and was also awarded the Al Ice Scholarship.

Cameron Taylor was named the MVP of the Outlaws, the other Lawrence AAA American Legion team. In the lower age group, Tyler Blankenship and Keaton Mishler shared the MVP award for the Bandits while Derek Holland was accorded the honor for the Mavericks.

Other scholarship winners were Derek Bailey, Sheldon McGuire and Paul Houle.
