He was born Oct. 5, 1955, in Lawrence, the son of Laverne H. and Maxine (Daugherty) Guenther. He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973.

Mr. Guenther worked for the post office for many years.

Survivors include his parents, both of Lawrence; a daughter, Erika Guenther, Lawrence; a son, Ryan, Lawrence; and a brother, Rex, Lawrence.
