Renegades drop 2

? The Lawrence Renegades dropped two games on Saturday at the Triple Crown World Series, but the 18-and-under traveling team survived pool play with a 1-3 record.

The Renegades (28-17) will face the Kansas City Generals at 9:45 a.m. today.

In the first game, the Hillcrest Huskies defeated Lawrence, 7-2.

Colt Adams led the Salt Lake City team’s 12-hit attack with two home runs and also earned the victory.

Joe Crane (1-4) took the loss for Lawrence.

Devon Myers, Carl Lisher and Cal Heinrich were all 1-for-3 for Lawrence.

The Renegades lost their final game in pool play, 4-2, to the Generals. Nick Walters (3-4) took the loss.

Lawrence outhit the Generals, 7-6, but all seven of the Renegades’ hits were singles.
