West Palm Beach, Fla. ? Don King, the bushy-haired boxing promoter who lives in a nearby oceanfront estate, said he would make South Florida the next Vegas when he completes a boxing arena and entertainment complex in the spring.

King is spending more than $20 million to convert a former jai alai fronton into an arena for international boxing matches, concerts, tennis matches and other events. To attract more crowds, he plans to build a hotel, restaurants and retail shops.

“You’re going to have everybody who’s anybody here,” King said from his office in Deerfield Beach. He named tennis hotshots Venus and Serena Williams, Michael Jackson and his brothers and rapper Dr. Dre.
