Kyra A. Ware

Ms. Ware died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born May 22, 1938, in Lawrence, the daughter of Albert and Daisy Mae Wright. She lived all her life in Lawrence.

Ms. Ware was a homemaker and formerly had worked as a social worker at Head Start, Lawrence, until the late 1970s.

She was a member of St. Luke’s A.M.E. Church and the Charmettes Club, Lawrence.

She married Bernard Ware in December 1979 in Lawrence. He died in May 1999.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl D. Smith, Columbia, Tenn., and Talonna Reed and Madonna Reed, both of Lawrence; a son, William Wright, Dallas; a sister, Peggy Vann, Kansas City, Mo.; two half-brothers, Aaron Wright, Lawrence, and Alan Wright, Portland, Ore.; five half-sisters, Alberta Wright, Annola Charity, April Wright, Anita Wright and Alisa Wright, all of Lawrence; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
