Lawrence City Commission

Commissioners to evaluate proposed SLT interchanges

Bottom Line

The Lawrence City Commission will receive a letter from County Commissioner Bob Johnson concerning proposed South Lawrence Trafficway 32nd Street interchanges.

Background

A majority of the commission has already indicated a preference that the South Lawrence Trafficway be routed south of the Wakarusa River. Johnson, in his letter, says the Kansas Department of Transportation will take that to mean there should be no interchanges with the city if a north-of-the-river alignment is chosen. Johnson is asking the city to make its preferences on interchanges known.
