Paul B. Heyman

? He was born May 19, 1912, near Walthall, Va., the son of Paul B. Sr. and Anna (Radtke) Heyman. He was a longtime resident of Ulysses.

Mr. Heyman taught school in Richfield, Satanta and Ulysses. He then began farming in Grant County. He also was a real estate broker and owned and operated the Heyman Agency, Ulysses.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 435 A.F. & A.M., Order of the Eastern Star and past president of Ulysses Rotary Club, all of Ulysses. He was also a member of York Rite Masonry Garden City Chapter 83 and Commandery No. 50, and he was a past Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Kansas.

He married Pauline M. Dougan on Aug. 12, 1934, at her parent’s farm south of Ulysses. She died Aug. 24, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Josandra “Jo” Barnes, Lawrence, and Pam Loucks, LaHonda, Calif.; a sister, Olga Smith, Elkhart; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
