Huntsville, Texas ? Kansas University transfer Mario Kinsey threw two touchdown passes as the Orange toppled the White, 20-9, in Sam Houston State’s spring football game last Saturday.

Kinsey tossed a six-yard scoring pass to freshman Matt Ellis late in the first quarter and hooked up with sophomore Corey Zeno on a 48-yard TD strike in the second quarter.

Kinsey finished 12-of-26 passing for 166 yards with one interception. The former Waco, Texas, LaVega High standout said he felt comfortable in the offense and believes he can help the NCAA Div. I-AA Kats reach their goals in 2002.

“I feel I can come in and get the job done,” Kinsey said.
