Easter Sunday saw thunderstorms during traditional sunrise services. However, weather quickly cleared for later events, and outdoor activities for the most part could be conducted as planned.

Two were killed and 11 hospitalized when an explosion ripped the south end of a Gustin-Bacon Manufacturing Co. plant in the Fairfax district of Kansas City, Kan.

IN 1902

On April 23, 1902 the upcoming Board of Regents of Kansas University meeting was discussed. The Lawrence Journal anticipated that at this meeting there might be a selection of a new chancellor for KU.
