Henry L. Green Sr.

Bonner Springs Services for Henry L. Green Sr., 89, Lawrence, previously of Linwood, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Mount Sidney Cemetery, Linwood.

Mr. Green died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

He was born April 10, 1913, in Loring, the son of James Monroe and Clara Adeline (Hubbard) Green.

Mr. Green lived the majority of his life in the Loring and Linwood areas, where he had worked as a farmer and carpenter. He also had worked as an estimator at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto. During World War II, he worked at North American Aviation Plant, Kansas City, Kan.

He had served on the Linwood School Board and was a charter member of Linwood Lions Club. He had served as treasurer for Sherman Board Township.

His first wife, Mildred Alice, died in 1987. His second wife, Gladys Glennis, died in 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Henry L. Jr., Linwood, Charles R., Overland Park, and John L., Lawrence; a daughter, Donna M. Thompson, Lawrence; six grandsons; and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

The family suggests memorials to the Linwood Lions Club College Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, Mo., 66012.
