KU softball falls to OU

? Kansas University scored twice in the top of the first inning, but couldn’t hold on against Oklahoma, falling to the Sooners, 6-3, in softball on Saturday.

After taking an early 2-0 lead, the Jayhawks allowed two runs in the bottom of the second, saw the Sooners add three more runs in the third and push an insurance run across in the sixth.

KU managed a run in the top of the seventh for the final score.

Five different Jayhawks had a hit as OU starter Kami Keiter (10-6) tossed a complete game, allowing three runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Kansas countered with Kara Pierce, who lasted just 21*3 innings. She allowed four runs on three hits and four walks. Pierce, who fell to 11-8 with the loss, struck out three.

KU right fielder Leah Tabb provided an offensive spark with a home run and two RBIs.
