Geneva Helm

Services for Geneva Helm, 68, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Reno Cemetery.

Mrs. Helm died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 2, 1934, in McKinney, Tex., the daughter of John Henry and Beulah (Sides) Payne. She attended school and lived in New Hope, Okla., until she married and moved to Lawrence.

Mrs. Helm was a homemaker. She attended Full Gospel Christian Assembly.

She married Oliver Helm on May 5, 1951, in Gainesville, Tex. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Bob E. Helm, Jimmy H. Helm, Glen L. Helm and Roger D. Helm, all of Lawrence; six daughters, Mary E. Montgomery, Judy K. Sneley, Rita F. Calef, Freida D. Hook, Tamny L. Helm and Jenatta L. Helm, all of Lawrence; five sisters, Othrene Beaver, Ravia, Okla., Shirley Payne, Ruby Stone and Gracie Brown, all of Tishomingo, Okla., and Mary Ann Simpson, Oklahoma City; 30 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Tina M. Helm, died Jan. 29, 1961.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
