The Eudora 4-H Club met April 1. Samantha Box talked to the members about her beef projects. Mary Cox informed the club about composting. Tim Moran displayed his rocketry projects from the past three years. Matthew Kelso demonstrated the flight steps of a rocket.

Members were reminded of the following events: rocketry workshop, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., today; Spring Beef Show, April 27, and last chance to make additions and/or changes for projects, May 1.

Before the meeting, the Eudora 4-H Relay for Life team met.

The next meeting will be at 3 p.m. May 5 following the club’s swap meet cleanup and pizza dinner. The officers will swap offices for this meeting.

Meadowlark 4-H Club met April 9 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Samie Milligan, president, called the meeting to order. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite springtime activity. Members sang “Happy Birthday” to those who had April birthdays.

Project talks were given by Shelby Miller, Justin Fox and Margaret Pendleton.

The following members received achievement pins: Derby Miller, membership; Shelby Miller and Jamie Morgison, clover; Will Pendleton, emerald; Darianne Hicks and Michael Hicks, silver guard; Kyle Morgison and Margaret Pendleton, leadership, and Samie Milligan, gold guard.

Tyler Parker was introduced as a guest. Members who participated in the model meeting at Regional Club Days were recognized for receiving a purple rating.

Members discussed a club banner for the Douglas County Free Fair.

Karen Pendleton invited horticulture members and any other interested members to help plant the labyrinth as a community project.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. May 14 at the fairgrounds. The club will have a pizza supper and special recognition for the high school seniors.
