Van Halen singers team

David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar will hit the road together for a concert tour in which the two former Van Halen singers will switch off as the headlining act night to night.

Roth and Hagar said Tuesday the tour titled “Song for Song: The Heavyweight Champs of Rock And Roll” will kick off May 29 in Cleveland, with dates set in Detroit, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles and about 15 other cities through the end of June.

Roth, 46, and Hagar, 54, said they would play on the same bill, flip-flopping who would have top billing at each show, but don’t plan to perform together.

Grammer rats on new show

New York Kelsey Grammer is taking a second job in television as an animated rat.

The “Frasier” star’s production company is making a new cartoon, “Gary the Rat,” that will debut on TNN next year. Grammer will provide the voice of the lead character.

Gary is described as a New York attorney so evil that one day he wakes up and he’s no longer human.

“He becomes the most sought-after lawyer once it is discovered he is actually a rat,” Grammer said Tuesday.

Lennon photograph auctioned

London A photograph of John Lennon’s spectacles, bloodstained from his fatal wounds in a 1980 shooting outside his New York apartment building, sold for $13,000 at auction Wednesday. The buyer was anonymous.

The seller was Johnnie Walker, a fund-raiser for Artist Residencies of Tokyo, or ART, a nonprofit organization that helps support Japanese artists.

The image was taken by Yoko Ono, and is one of only six such prints. It shows Lennon’s trademark round spectacles beside a glass of water on a table by the window of the couple’s apartment in the Dakota building near Central Park, with a blurred view of the Manhattan skyline in the background.

Ono used the photo on the cover of her album “Season of Glass,” released eight months after Lennon’s death.

Osbournes seeking deal

The drama offscreen surrounding MTV’s hot reality series “The Osbournes” is getting almost as interesting as the show itself, reports the New York Daily News.

America’s favorite new TV family has signed with the Endeavor talent agency to help it explore a deal for a second season of the show. While MTV has production rights to any future seasons, the network hasn’t locked up a deal.

While neither side is talking, industry insiders said the Osbournes are seeking a second-season fee in the high seven figures and perhaps even more.

The family was paid in the low seven figures for the first season.
