Alliances to gather at Maxwell

May 9 promises to be an exciting day of Kansas outdoor tourism. The Kansas Fishing and Hunting Alliance and the Kansas Nature-Based Alliance will hold a joint meeting at Maxwell Wildlife Area, near Canton.

The event will include guest speakers, a buffalo lunch and fee prizes. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maxwell Game Preserve in eastern McPherson County.

Cliff Peterson, manager of Maxwell Wildlife Area, will speak about this unique prairie preserve, where wild elk and buffalo still roam.

The highlight will be a tram tour of Maxwell Wildlife Area. The cost will be $10, which includes the buffalo lunch and tram tour.
