Florida ? A student was fatally shot Friday in the parking lot of a technical school near Fort Lauderdale. Police were searching for a man accused earlier of stalking her.

Annette Arteaga, a 22-year-old business student at Atlantic Technical Center, died at a hospital, police said.

Arteaga had been the victim of a stalker and had special parking privileges, said Kirk Englehardt, spokesman for the Broward County Public Schools.

A guard usually walked her from the parking lot into the school, but did not meet her Friday because she was an hour late, Englehardt said.

A first-degree murder warrant is out for Alejandro Rodriguez, 24.
