George and Aileen Hartpence, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 21 at the home of their son, Doug Hartpence, 3104 Sherwood Drive, Lawrence.

Morgan

Herman and Elenor Morgan, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on April 21 with a family dinner. Herman Morgan and Elenor Duncan were married on April 20, 1942, in Bethany, Mo.

The Morgans lived in Iowa until 1956. They moved to Erie, where Herman operated a ditching service for many years. Elenor was a homemaker and operated a hobby shop from their home. They also spent some years in the Wichita area where Herman worked for an engineering firm as a rural water line inspector. After his retirement, they returned to Erie. They moved to Lawrence in 1989. For several years they have spent the winter in La Feria, Tex.

The couple have two children, Larry Morgan, LaCygne, and Sharon Aikins, Lawrence. They also have four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
