PTA conventioneers schedule Salina meeting

? The 88th Kansas PTA Convention will feature guest speakers, exhibits and workshops today through Sunday at Salina Holiday Inn.

Special guests and speakers include Shirley Igo, national PTA president; Andy Tompkins, Kansas education commissioner; Angela Lumpkin, dean of Kansas University’s School of Education; and author Carol Dean Schreiner, who will present “Wonder Man/Woman Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”

Exhibit topics will include ideas on fund raising, educational products and playground equipment.

Workshops available include those on helping children deal with stress and crisis situations, youth suicide prevention, and various PTA officer training and program ideas.
