Kastrup services

Memorial services for Richard A. Kastrup, 56, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurment will follow private military graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Kastrup died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Chester, Penn., the son of Carlo and Mildred (Snipes) Kastrup. He lived in Blair, Neb., from 1947 to 1967.

Mr. Kastrup served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967 and in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Wayne State University, Wayne, Neb., in 1969, with a bachelor’s degree in business.

He moved in 1969 to Wichita, and he managed offices for Morris Plan in Wichita and Shawnee, Okla. He then worked at Davis Moore Automotive as its finance and insurance manager. He lived in Clearwater from 1978 until 1997 when he moved to Lawrence.

Mr. Kastrup was a past member of Wichita Cosmopolitan Club, secretary of Wichita Consumer Loan Exchange and a committee member of Wichita Chamber of Commerce. He also was a member of The Kansas Cornhusker Club, Wichita. In Lawrence, he was a member of Kansas University Quarterback Club.

He married Rebecca Owen. She survives of the home.

The family suggests memorials to Williams Educational Fund at Kansas University or to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
