Milton John Niebrugge

? He was born May 20, 1919, in the Worden community west of Baldwin, the son of William and Bertha Katharine (Haas) Niebrugge. He attended Union Grade School.

Mr. Niebrugge farmed from 1942 to 1960, also working with his brother, Karl, building houses in the Douglas County area. He then worked in dormitory maintenance at Kansas University for 21 years until his retirement in 1981.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.

He married Dorothy Maria Katharine Kueck on Feb. 8, 1942, in Higginsville, Mo. They lived in the Globe area until her death on June 15, 1995. He then moved to Auburn.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Shoemaker, Topeka, and Marie Pearce, Berryton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a companion, Dorothy Lewis, Auburn.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Overbrook, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
