Kansas City, Mo. ? The Mid-Continent Conference will hold its 2003 basketball tournaments in Kansas City, the conference announced Wednesday.

The men’s tournament will be held March 9-11, while the women’s is held March 8 and 10-11. Both tournaments will be at Kemper Arena, where the Big 12 tournament has been played since 1997. That tournament will be played in Dallas in 2003 and 2004.

UMKC, which developed the winning bid, will serve as host for the Mid-Continent tournaments. Conference leaders chose Kansas City over Tulsa, Okla.
