Walter H. Randall

Ottawa Services for Walter H. Randall, 67, Ottawa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.

Mr. Randall died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe.

He was born Dec. 25, 1934, on the family farm east of Linwood, the son of Albert and Opal Adesa (Kern) Randall. He grew up and attended schools in DeSoto. He graduated from DeSoto High School in 1953.

He lived in Lawrence for three years before he moved to Ottawa, where he had lived the past 37 years.

Mr. Randall entered the U.S. Army on May 6, 1957. He was honorably discharged May 1, 1959.

He worked as a die setter at Jayhawk Box Company for more than 37 years before he retired March 7, 1997. He also served as a secretary at Grain Millers Union Local No. 23, Lawrence.

He married Carolyn McAuley on June 24, 1960, at Ottawa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Pam Lively, Berryton, Teresa Stapleton, Sugar Creek, Mo., and Tina Rose and Angela Caleb, both of Ottawa; a son, James, Williamsburg; a brother, Raymond, Bonner Springs; a sister, Martha Boatright, Bonner Springs; and 13 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
