RFK Jr. to address Friends of the Kaw

Environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be in Kansas City, Kan., this month for a fund-raiser for the Friends of the Kaw.

Kennedy will attend an 11 a.m. press conference April 17 at Kaw Point, at the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers in Kansas City, Kan. The event will include the official launching of a boat to be guided by riverkeeper Dave Murphy, who was hired last year to police pollution along the Kaw.

Kennedy then will attend a VIP reception at 6 p.m. at Grinter Place, 78th Street and Kansas Highway 32 in Kansas City, Kan. He will speak at 7:30 p.m., followed by a book signing of “The Riverkeepers,” a book he co-authored with John Cronin.

Tickets to the reception, lecture and book signing are $125 each or $215 for two. Additional tickets are $100 each.

Tickets for the lecture and book signing only are $45 each and $65 for two. Additional tickets are $25 each. Children under 12 are $10.
