Community Services / 2015 Voice of Democracy (VOD)
The VOD scholarship contest is an annual nationwide audio essay competition designed to give 9th-12th grade high school students, ages 15-19, the opportunity to voice their opinion on their responsibility to our country. Each student records their essay on a cassette tape or CD, 3-5 minutes in length, on an annual patriotic theme.
Each State winner receives an all-expense-paid trip to the National finals held at Washington, DC in March. Total scholarship awards for winners exceed $2,000,000.
Scheduled dates for the VOD program are: Student Entry - Midnight, November 1 Complete Post Judging - November 15 Complete District Judging - December 6 Complete State Judging - January 7 State winner to National - January 15
