Aylo Lippe

Funeral services for Aylo La Dora Lippe, 86, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Connect Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale, KS. She passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

Aylo was born on September 12, 1932 near Miltonvale, KS, the daughter of Frederick W. and Leah (Regnier) Lippe. She lived near Miltonvale until 1954 when she moved with her family to Lawrence.

She attended Wesleyan Academy in 1950 in Miltonvale, KS, Wesleyan College B.A. Religion in 1954 in Miltonvale, KS, and the University of Kansas where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education in 1957 and in 1971 received her MS from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.

She was a member of the Lawrence Wesleyan Church (Connect Church) since 1954, Explorer’s Bible Class, Wesleyan Ladies Bible Study, Church Prayer Group, Care Group, and was a Missions Committee member.

She was an Elementary School Teacher at the Veritas Christian School in Lawrence from 1988-2004, Wesleyan Academy in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico from 1963 – 1985 and Kansas Public Schools from 1957 – 1963.

Aylo was a beloved teacher at Wesleyan Academy which was indicated by her receiving teacher of the year several times.

Survivors include several cousins and their families.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Connect Church or Veritas Christian School and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
