Marilyn Vincent

Marilyn L. Vincent, 84, passed away at her residence in Muncie, Indiana, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, following an extended illness.

She was born on Monday, January 8, 1934, in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Ginest) Curt. Marilyn taught for 10 years in Kansas City public schools, earned a BA in Music Education from the University of Kansas in 1955, followed by an MA in Music Education at the University of Colorado, and a PhD at the University of Kansas in 1970. Marilyn moved to Muncie, Indiana, in 1971. She was the Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies for the School of Music at Ball State University. Marilyn was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church and served as the choir director for twenty years. She enjoyed playing piano, traveling, entertaining, and playing games.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Vincent; step-sons, Bill (wife, Deanna) Vincent, and Mark (wife, Cheryl) Vincent; brother, Jim (wife, Sharon) Curt; sister, Carol (husband, Paul) Enos; sister-in-law, Donna Kay Kohrs; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (husband, Darian) Beard, Andrew James Williamson, Brent (wife, Kori) Williamson, Evan (wife, Lauren) Williamson, Elizabeth Vincent, Geordan Williamson, and Joshua Vincent; three great-grandchildren, Teddy Williamson, Isabella Beard, and Hailey Beard; and nephews and nieces, Curt Enos, Kevin Enos, Mischa (husband, Larry Fry) Enos, Heather (husband, Ross Wohlert) Enos, Johnathan Curt, Jennifer (husband, John) May, and Kimberly Curt.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie, 4800 West Bradford Drive, Muncie, Indiana, 47304, with Pastor Seth Carrier-Ladd officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church on Sunday, December 16, 2018.
