Amanda Nightingale

Amanda A. Nightingale, 99, died August 16, 2018, at Pine Village, Moundridge. She was born March 1, 1919, at the Alta Mill in rural McPherson County, to Jacob B. and Mary (Friesen) Stucky. Amanda was a homemaker and before retiring was a custodian at the Hertzler Clinic. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead. On June 25, 1944, she married John C. Nightingale in Moundridge. They shared 51 years of marriage before he died on January 16, 1996.

Amanda is survived by: sons, Dr. Conrad Nightingale and wife Nancy of Bandera, TX; Bruce Nightingale and wife Larisa of Lawrence; James Nightingale and wife Debbie of rural Halstead; sister, Linda Evans of Portland, OR; sister-in-law, Trudy Stucky of Hutchinson; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Harold, Eldo, Nahida Miller, Freida Pauls, Richard, Esther Wagner, Lorraine, Al; and son, Tim Nightingale. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018, at First Mennonite Cemetery, Moundridge. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Halstead. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Mennonite Church, Halstead or Pine Village, in care of the funeral home.
