Fred and Mary McCreary, Baldwin City, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Three Sisters Inn, Baldwin City.
The couple were married May 23, 1969, at the First Presbyterian Church in Salina. They later moved Colby and then to Baldwin City in 1983.
Fred had a career in journalism and with the Kansas Army National Guard. Mary taught for many years at Bethel Christian Academy and gave piano lessons.
They have a son, Bryce and wife Julie, Lawrence; and two daughters, Sarah McCune and husband Matt, Baldwin City, and Ruthanne McCreary, Overland Park.
