Steve and Jane Scherer, Basehor, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family celebration Sunday.

Steve Scherer and Jane Ann Steele were married June 13, 1959, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Effingham.

Steve, who was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C., retired from Colgate-Palmolive in 1989. Jane is also retired.

Their daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Brock, Lawrence, and their grandchildren will play host at the anniversary celebration.
