On Do you think there is affordable housing in Lawrence?

I hear there's going to be some really affordable housing near the jail soon.

Plus there's soon going to be a $19 million dollar playhouse built near downtown to hang out in.

Nope. Not with what the average job pays in this town.

I have to stick with my party. "The Rent is too Damn High"

The Free State beers are affordable so it is really a wash.

Affordable is a relative term.
Currently, the median income for the area is $71,500 for a family of four.
Median sales price for houses in Lawrence is $130,903.
Based on those numbers, yes Lawrence has affordable housing.
Lower income housing? No.

Topeka has lower property values and you can buy a much bigger house over there. But, I doubt most people in Lawrence could tolerate living in Topeka. It is not for wimps.... Kind of dirty. DIsgusting actually but my home town.....

I recently bought a house in town for $100,000. It was a foreclosure but still in great shape. While I was looking I saw a lot of nice houses in this price range. I'm not sure what most people consider affordable... I guess if you're unemployed then you'd answer no... I'm very fortunate.

First, let me repeat what the musician didn't say, "It depends on who you are if housing is affordable. I’m not sure how much affordable housing there is in Lawrence.”

What was the question?
