Geese flying overhead
Listening to KU fans say "Oh well, at least basketball starts soon"
Good one blue73
Cornbread and beans too.
Alas, my old lab is now retired. He just cain't cut it anymore. But he sure gets excited when he see's Dad decked out in the "garb" and the smell of Hoppes number 9 fills the air. Dang it. It sure makes that scotch taste better after a day in the marsh and/or field...a nice steak...I don't even make it through the after dinner movie on those days.
the faithfull Lab scenting the air for birds. Knowing it is time to hit the fields for pheasants and quail.
Think the impending bacon shortage is bad, just wait till the tempeh and tofu riots start.
Hunting season is almost in full swing, walk your legs off, but thats what keeps you young, well maybe not true, wishfull thinking, huh Labmonkey----
All the new TV shows that I can ignore.
Bacon shortage, had not heard about that. Scary.
How can I think about this with a pending global bacon shortage?
Not using the air conditioner or furnace is nice.
But, mostly football....
I like these September cool fronts. They mean we've moved on from the "triple digit hell". Autumn means lots of long squirrel hunting hikes into the woods. I don't sully these trips by inviting anybody along.
The water rushing over the top of the fall.
The part where I hit the ground
No more mowing
Cooler temps, pretty leaves, football and basketball. It's my favorite time of the year.
It makes me wanna break out the crock pot and stuff...
Camping, watching football and only a couple weeks till basketball starts! Only thing is, I don't like winter that much, too dark and dismal!
Cooler weather, NFL season, deer season, cute redhead in the OTS, what's not to like?
I don't know. I always stick my landing.
The getting up is my favorite part. If you cain't get up after a fall, it ain't worth it.
The other part, is those cool refreshing mornings in the fifties after that gawd awful summer triple digit hell. Next thing you know there is a sudden rush of wings and the sound of discharging firearms...."get 'em boy, fetch 'em up" "Good dog"......
The majestic migration of the prairie squid to their wintering grounds in Peru.
It's not so much the season as the rotation.
Excited little kids whose pictures make me smile.
the cooling off.
Breaking a hip. Right up there with cracking my skull on the fireplace mantle . . .
I like that it ain't so hot and my body isn't cookin in the sun no more
First, I don't like to fall.
