OK, I'll go with 82-66 KU.
And "Field of Dreams" is my favorite sports movie. I have a soft spot for "D2: The Mighty Ducks are Back" as well.
By far, the largest student crowd of the year. The sororities must have won big at the lottery, as most of the front three rows on both sides are females.
I picked KU 114 - MU 17 over on the live side of things.
OK, so maybe 84-68 is more realistic.
But, did you like that top 10 list???
Off topic, sorry, but The Express was pretty cool. Otherwise, Rudy.
How many red shirts does Missouri have?
kuwells — Yeah, I think the second prediction will be a bit closer.
Don't believe MU is red-shirting anyone this year, if that's what you're asking. Zaire Taylor is a redshirt senior, so he has red-shirted before.
Unfortunately me too. Also, Jesse, please send Mr. Krug over to the front three rows for photos!
I wish KU had a live cam in Allen to see all the fans, especially the first 3 rows.
Are there any KU recruits in tonight?
Kansas - 105
Mizzou - 85
Nick was turned with his camera toward the court, not the bleachers. What's he thinking?
Talked to our beat writer, Gary Bedore, and he didn't know about any recruits coming tonight. He was still in disbelief that Eddie Money is here, though.
Nick must be an engineer:
An engineer was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket.
The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week." The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to the pocket.
The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you and do anything you want." Again the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it, and put it back into his pocket.
Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you that I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a week, and that I'll do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend; but a talking frog, now that's cool.
One sign has a big picture of toothless Cole and says something to the extent of: "Cole: Looks like a Mizzou fan, but plays like a Jayhawk."
Just saw the photo over on the LIVE part. So, a pack of shirtless goobers infiltrated the sorority hotties. Oh the inhumanity. That could have been a very special photo.
Jesse: That sign is awesome! I need to modify my Top 10 list!
I wasn't lying. Look at all those girls around the shirtless guys.
Look how the girls are ignoring the shirtless guys! And kindly ask the "K" and the "!" to put their shirts back on!
Good news, G-town is getting pounded by 'Cuse and 10 min left in the game. So, we might get to see Eddie Money!
Feeling nostalgic, I'll go with "Bryan's Song" for best sports movie.
oldalum — Nice call. With a KU tie, as well.
John Higgins is one of tonight's officials. He usually brings some 'tude with his whistles.
One MU fan is seated in the middle of the KU student section. Not a good decision. The boos are raining down on him.
I love the Cole sign! Great idea! My roommate is unfortunatly a misery fan, so we have been going at it all day. I cant wait for this game to start. My prediction is KU-90 misery-58
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
Who in your opinion jesse has improved in KU's recent history in one year as Marcus has this year?
Lungline — Good question. I'd say one stands out above the others: Cole Aldrich's improvement from his freshman year to his sophomore year.
There's probaby a couple of different ways to determine Closet To The Score. So, how do you determine the winner, Jesse?
kuwells - give the winning shirts to the fat guys in the picture.
It is only boos. Last time I sat around a bunch of Mizz people, I got hit by a battery.
Up-tempo game in store for tonight, which should play right into TT's playbook. This should give a good opportunity for some of the younger guys to get some real PT - EJ, TRob, and CJ (not really a younger guy, but you get my drift). If we value the ball and take it to the rim when the press is broken, this could go high.
FINAL: KU 86 MU 68
Any info on how CJ's back is doing
melrank — We aren't giving out any prize tonight, just bragging rights. But I usually just add up how many points the person was off on both teams.
woody — I haven't heard anything. He wasn't supposed to play tonight regardless.
I thought Raef has something similar as well as Gooden's. Raef could not catch the ball without traveling.
I'm so excited for this game! I hope our crowd is REALLY fired up! Syracuse' crowd has been amazing tonight. We need to show that we are the best fans in the country!
I grew up always loving "Pride of the Yankees". But now, I would have to go with Hoosiers.
lungline — Ah, I was only thinking recent history, as in the last five years or so. Those are good calls as well.
Be honest: How many of you could name three players on this year's Missouri roster without cheating?
Point is, Mike Anderson has a nice team without many superstars.
MU's J.T. Tiller nearly wiped out a KU cheerleader on accident while running back to the locker room. He grinned and threw his hands up to make sure everyone knew it wasn't intentional.
Jesse: Do me a favor, if Cuse vs. Hoyas isn't finished by the tip, please create a distraction. Strip naked and impress those hotties in the front rows. Your fiance will forgive you.
kuwells — LOL. I don't even know how to respond. Knowing ESPN, it'll hold this game up a couple minutes regardless.
jesse, how about
cousin of inmate #3
that's 4 right there!
As much as I hate to say it, I find myself not hating this MU team as much as past teams. Maybe it's cuz of Mike Anderson (I LOVED hatin' on Quinny, and I still have a great photoshopped pic of him working at Wal-Mart after being canned) or maybe it's just because they've kind of been flying below the radar recently. I'm sure it'll get heated up again tonight! I put my Muck Fizzou shirt on today the minute I got home from work, so I'm ready to get it going!
denver — Missouri is 10th in the KenPom rankings, meaning perhaps it is still flying a bit under the radar this season. It appears Anderson has a great team at Mizzou Arena, an OK team away from Mizzou Arena and a dangerous team in the NCAA Tournament.
Looking like Cuse and G'town are gonna finish on time. It'll be nice to see a tipoff for once!
Miguel Paul has a weird, fluffy mohawk/flat top going on. Interesting.
Someone needs to get a video of Eddie Money doing the National Anthem.
1:18 left in Syracuse. Orange up by 16 and if I can read lips, Thompson just told his team to stop fouling. Done early - I think you are safe. No distraction required.
Jesse, are you gonna be at Allen Fieldhouse West next Wednesday?
denver — I will be there Saturday for the game.
KU comes out of locker room. Crowd goes bonkers. Great atmosphere already in this one.
G'town still fouling with 23 seconds left and down 18 pts!
The mohawk look worked out really well for KU last year and ISU last game... Lets hope that trend continues.
Wasn't Georgetown up 14-2?
Gtown started 14-0. Too much clock...
C.J. Henry in street clothes.
Eddie Money with some interesting, twirling dance moves. Not bad. He also inserted "I love this country" into the Star-Spangled Banner, which I'd never seen before.
I meant the OTHER Allen Fieldhouse West, the one in Boulder.
Who needs a win more tonight?
denver — Haha. Yeah, I'll be there too. Sorry I got the AFH Wests mixed up.
Missouri stays on the court for the pregame video.
Thanks for the chat. I'm going to switch back over to the blog. Look there for analysis, pictures, polls and more.
