Law enforcement report

Burglaries and thefts reported

• A 19-year-old Lawrence man reported $1,430 worth of video game equipment was stolen May 5 from the 800 block of Missouri Street. Items reported stolen include an Xbox 360 Elite, Nintendo Wii and numerous Xbox and Wii games.

Emergency calls

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported these responses:



Fire calls

• False alarm, 7:27 a.m. Monday, Engel Road.

• Motor vehicle accident, 8:02 a.m. Monday, Iowa and 15th streets.

• Outside rubbish, trash or waste fire, 9:17 a.m. Monday, 2601 Haskell Avenue.

• Microwave fire incident, 9:23 a.m. Monday, 1501 Inverness Drive.

• Alarm system sounded due to malfunction, 2:58 p.m. Monday, 1035 N. Third St.

• Motor vehicle accident, 9:21 p.m. Monday, 6200 W. Sixth St.

• Gasoline or other flammable liquid, 9:29 p.m. Monday, 1714 W. 23rd St.

• Smoke detector activation, no fire, 10:12 p.m. Monday, 2600 Kensington Road.

    maybe he was out walking when his game stash was lifted.

    apart from the frivelous nature of what was stolen, I'm sure he's feeling seriously violated from this crime.

    when srj/confront/gnome were younger it was: “pong” or pacman. before that, was “empire” on a mini computer or telnet “diplomacy.”

    Sorry to burst your bubble, BG, but I've never been addicted to video games. I hate that someone had stuff stolen, but maybe it'll have a silver lining.

    I think its sad that people have nothing better to do than to criticize and pass their own judgement on something that they know very little about. Does it matter if it was a video game, cash, or someones treasured possessions? Should it matter?
