Look for KU professor on CBS Evening News
A Kansas University associate professor of nursing is scheduled to be interviewed during tonight's broadcast of the CBS Evening News.
Kristine Williams is scheduled to discuss her research on "elderspeak" - a phenomenon by which those caring for patients with Alzheimer's Disease or dementia speak in an overly caring, infantile way - similar to baby talk - to the patients.
Williams' research indicated that patients were more likely to resist care when spoken to in a degrading manner.
More information about the research can be found at the School of Nursing's Web site.
