CLAS associate dean finalist for Indiana job

A longtime professor in Kansas University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a finalist for the position of dean of the School of Environmental and Public Affairs at Indiana University.Barbara Romzek, arts and sciences associate dean, came to KU in 1979 and has taught in the public administration department. In addition to her teaching, she became interim college dean when Kim Wilcox left for Michigan State and before Joseph Steinmetz was hired.Interestingly, Steinmetz was recruited away from Indiana for the position at KU.Romzek is among four finalists for the position, and is expected to be on campus next week for interviews, and to meet students and faculty. Romzek was in a meeting Tuesday afternoon and could not immediately be reached for comment.
