September 18th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

The overnight rain seemed to contribute to the call load for Lawrence Police. I counted seven non-injury accidents between just before 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. The rain did not slow the Police Department’s efforts on traffic enforcement. Again, I counted 27 vehicle stops, at least three of those stops resulted in a DUI arrest.

Police responded on just short of 20 noise complaints and 14 disturbances. None of the disturbances, that I heard, involved the use of weapons.

No serious injuries were reported with any of the overnight activity.

For those that follow Operation 100 News (@Operation100) on Twitter. I have cut back my hours of posting updates. Previously I was active just over 60 hours a week. That number has been cut back to 45 hours a week. More information on my decision to cut back hours can be found here.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
