Bill Self: KU embarking on biggest week of season

Kansas basketball coach Bill Self says No. 10-ranked West Virginia, which visits Allen Fieldhouse Tuesday night, hasn’t changed drastically since defeating KU in January, and might have already pulled off one of the better Big 12 victories of the season — winning at Iowa State.

That game is just the first part of a massive week for the No. 6-ranked Jayhawks, who play at No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday.

“It’s probably the biggest week we’ve had in a while, and certainly the biggest week we’ve had this year,” Self says.

Now in his 13th season at Kansas, Self thinks the Big 12 this season is “the most competitive it’s been since I’ve been here.” While it has been difficult to win the league 11 straight seasons, Self says this year “is taking it to another level.”
